Stadtbibliothek Naha is the central library of Naha's municipal network, housed at 1-2-15 Yorimiya beside Yogi Park. The library occupies the first floor, while the second floor holds the Chuo community centre. It is one of a central library plus six branches, and since 1998 borrowers face no limit on the number of items they may take out.

The library traces its origin to the Okinawa Central Library, set up in 1947 by the Okinawa Civil Government through the efforts of Shiroma Chōkyō, the last pre-war director of the Okinawa Prefectural Library. Its main branch moved to Naha, passed through five temporary sites, and in 1951 became the Information Hall at the Shureimon temple site, renamed the Naha Ryūbei Cultural Center in 1952. It moved to its present location in 1969, passed to Naha city in 1972, and took its current name in 1975.

The collection focuses heavily on Okinawan regional traditions and local customs, making it a resource for visitors wanting to explore regional identity. You can find materials about traditional crafts and practices that remain visible in daily community life.

The central library in Yogi Park opens 9:30 to 19:00 on weekdays and to 18:00 on Saturdays and Sundays. It closes on Mondays, holidays, the third Wednesday of each month and 23 June, Okinawa's Memorial Day. The Makishi Ekimae, Shuri and Hantagawa branches close on Fridays instead of Mondays.

The network has one central library and six branches, not seven. Three branches — Makishi Ekimae, Shuri and Hantagawa — close on Fridays instead of Mondays. The Makishi Ekimae Hoshizora branch opened on 8 July 2011 in the Saison Square redevelopment building, replacing the Kumoji library that closed at the end of March that year.
