Chōfuku-ji

Chōfuku-ji is a Buddhist temple in Nagoya's Midori-ku district featuring traditional architecture with a main hall and prayer areas. The grounds display classic temple design and offer quiet spaces to explore and reflect.

The temple was founded between 1166 and 1169 by Nun Shinri from the Umezu clan. This establishment marked the start of a long spiritual history that continues to this day.

The temple's collection includes National Treasures such as the Shihon Chakushoku Hanazono Tenno-zo, a colored paper artwork depicting Emperor Hanazono. This rare work reveals the artistic and spiritual value preserved here.
