Midori-ku

Midori-ku is an administrative district in Nagoya that brings together several neighborhoods and residential areas across a large terrain. The area combines modern urban sections with older parts that still stand from earlier times.

This area played an important role in the Battle of Okehazama, a major clash during the time of warring states. The warrior Oda Nobunaga had a significant confrontation there with forces from a rival clan.

The old post road Tokaido passes through this area, and visitors can still find buildings and streets that remind them of the Tokugawa period. These places show how people lived and traveled in this region hundreds of years ago.
