Kansai Cycle Sports Center, Bicycle-themed amusement park in Kawachinagano, Japan.
Kansai Cycle Sports Center is a recreational park spread across wooded slopes inside Kongō-Ikoma-Kisen Quasi-National Park near Kawachinagano, where visitors pedal along a three-kilometer route through forest. The grounds hold dozens of bicycle models to try, from tandems to multi-seat machines that roll across the park's paths.
The center opened in July 1974 as the first dedicated cycling facility of its kind in Japan, offering residents around Osaka new ways to spend time on two wheels. Since then the park has expanded its collection of rideable machines and drawn families from across the Kansai region.
The center represents Japan's commitment to cycling education and recreation, offering specialized training areas where children learn traditional cycling skills.
Admission runs 800 yen for adults and 500 yen for elementary students, with the park open daily except Tuesdays from ten in the morning until five in the afternoon. Comfortable shoes help since the terrain slopes and visitors walk short distances between attractions.
The collection holds around 800 unusual bicycles, including a pedal-powered roller coaster where riders pump their own speed by turning the cranks. Other designs seat more than four people side by side or steer in reverse.
