Eboshigata Hachiman Shrine, Shinto shrine on Mount Eboshigata, Kawachinagano, Japan.

Eboshigata Hachiman Shrine is a Shinto sanctuary on the eastern slope of Mount Eboshigata with traditional wooden buildings, torii gates, and multiple altar structures arranged on the hillside. The complex demonstrates classical shrine architecture adapted to the natural terrain.

The shrine was built to protect Eboshigata Castle, one of the seven fortifications of the Kusuki clan, and later received designation as an Important Cultural Property. This recognition reflects the historical connection between religious sites and local defense structures in Japan.

The shrine honors Hachiman, the deity of war and protector of Japan, through regular ceremonies and seasonal festivals that visitors can witness throughout the year.

The shrine is located at 305 Kita-cho and is accessible on foot in about 15 minutes south from Kawachinagano Station or about 20 minutes north from Mikkachcho Station. The hillside location means visitors should wear sturdy shoes and allow extra time to explore the grounds.

The shrine grounds overlap with the ruins of Eboshigata Castle, with ancient fortification remains partially integrated into the modern sanctuary space. Visitors walking through the area can see both layers of history within the same location.
