鷲ヶ岳スキー場, Ski resort in Takasu, Japan.
Washigadake Ski Resort is a ski area located in Takasu, in Gifu Prefecture, within the Japanese Alps. It offers runs for all skill levels, from gentle beginner slopes to steeper sections for more experienced skiers and snowboarders.
The resort grew from the merging of separate ski areas that were gradually brought together under one operation. Over time, this consolidation helped establish Takasu as a go-to winter sports destination in central Japan.
The resort includes the Washi no Yu onsen, a hot spring bath that visitors can enjoy after spending time on the slopes. This feature reflects how the location brings together local bathing customs with winter activities.
The resort can be reached by direct bus from Nagoya and Osaka, so a car is not required to get there. The season generally runs from December to March, with the best snow conditions usually in January and February.
Within the resort, there is a dedicated winter park called THE ACTIVE, a 1200-meter course with features designed for advanced riders looking for something beyond standard runs. It draws snowboarders and freestyle skiers who want more technical terrain.
