Ryūgakuji Kofun Cluster, Ancient burial mound cluster in Narita, Japan
The Ryūgakuji Kofun Cluster features 114 burial mounds spread across a plateau, making it the largest collection in the Kantō region of Japan.
These burial mounds, constructed between the late 6th and 7th centuries, include various shapes such as domed, square, and keyhole formations on the Shimōsa Plateau.
The surrounding Boso-no-Mura museum demonstrates traditional Japanese rural life through workshops focused on papermaking, blacksmithing, and agricultural practices.
Visitors can reach the site by taking a Chiba Kotsu bus from Ajiki Station on the JR East Narita Line to the Fudoki no Oka Kitaguchi stop.
The Iwaya Kofun, measuring 78 meters on each side, stands out as the largest tumulus in the cluster with its three-tiered step pyramid construction.
