靜岡縣立森林公園, Natural forest park in Hamamatsu, Japan.
Shizuoka Prefectural Forest Park spans 215 hectares of natural Japanese red pine forests with walking trails and recreational spaces distributed throughout the grounds. The facility includes on-site lodging with 18 rooms, training halls, parking, and a restaurant.
The park was established in 1965 on the northern side of the Mikatahara Plateau within the Tenryu Okumikawa Quasi-National Park area. Its creation reflected efforts to develop this forest region as a public recreation space.
The Wood Craft Center offers workshops where visitors learn traditional Japanese woodworking techniques and create functional items like book stands. These classes connect hands-on craft skills with the forest setting.
The park is easily accessible by car with a 50-space parking lot for day visitors. Those wishing to stay longer can use the on-site lodging or grab food at the restaurant, which serves both overnight guests and day visitors.
Within the park stands Birdpia Hamakita, a bird observation center where visitors can watch seasonal species. The facility also displays nature photography exhibitions that capture the diversity of local wildlife.
