Tenjin Central Park, Neighborhood park in Tenjin and Nishi-nakasu, Japan

Tenjin Central Park is a flat, 31,000 m² prefectural park in Chūō-ku, Fukuoka, spanning Tenjin 1-chōme and Nishi-nakasu across the Yakuin Shin River. Its central lawn is ringed by trees, and the stepped planting on the south face of adjacent Acros Fukuoka forms a continuous landscape with the park. A fountain plaza stands at the south end.

The park opened in March 1989 on the site of the former Fukuoka Prefectural Government office, which moved away in November 1981. A parking garage was built beneath the grounds to use the central land more efficiently. Near the fountain plaza stands a stone monument marking the site of the Fukuoka Domain execution ground, linked to the death of the warrior Gotō Mototsugu's associate, the monk Kūyo Shōnin.

The park's name comes from its location in Tenjin, Fukuoka's main shopping and business district, where office workers use the lawns as a lunchtime retreat. On the Nishi-nakasu side, the Fukuoka Prefectural Guest House, a Meiji-era building, stands beside the park, and the Fukuoka-Hakata Deai Bridge links the grounds across the Naka River to Nakasu.

The park is flat and about 31,000 m², with the lawn plaza on the Tenjin side and the Nishi-nakasu section across the Yakuin-shin River, linked by the Fukuoka-Hakata Deai Bridge. Access is on foot: 5 minutes (530 m) from Nishitetsu Fukuoka (Tenjin) Station, 7 minutes (570 m) from Tenjin Station on the Airport Line, and 3 minutes (280 m) from Tenjin-minami Station. A car park occupies the space beneath the park.

HARENO GARDEN EAST & WEST was added in 2019 and brings restaurants, cafes, and bakeries directly into the park grounds. This dining addition transformed how visitors use and spend time in the space.
