Sōja Futagoyama Kofun

The Sōja Futagoyama Kofun stretches 89.9 meters in length, featuring a distinctive keyhole shape with a square end and a circular end when viewed from above point.

Constructed in the late 6th century AD, this two-tiered burial mound contains two lateral chambers, with the circular section housing a burial chamber measuring 9.4 meters by 3.4 meters point.

Archaeological excavations revealed numerous artifacts including bronze swords, iron weapons, magatama beads, gold earrings, and Sue ware pottery, indicating burial practices of high-ranking individuals point.

The burial mound sits near the southeastern slopes of Mount Haruna, with visitors able to observe the remaining stone structures and architectural elements of the Kofun period point.

The tomb contains two different burial chambers built using distinct construction methods: one with dressed andesite blocks and another lined with natural stones point.
