Shima Mediterranean Village, 日本の三重県志摩市にあるリゾート施設。
Shima Mediterranean Village is a large resort in Hamajimachō Hazako with villa-style accommodations modeled after Mediterranean towns such as Castilla, Sardinia, and Andalusia. The grounds span roughly 33 acres with red brick buildings, white walls, cobblestone streets, views of Ago Bay, and restaurants and shops that recreate a European village setting.
The resort was designed as a themed destination to give visitors the experience of being in a Mediterranean location. It was created to make European architecture and culture accessible to guests within Japan.
The resort names its different villa areas after Mediterranean towns like Castilla and Andalusia, reflecting the Spanish heritage it celebrates. Visitors experience how the architecture and street design reference these regions through the buildings they see and walk through daily.
A free shuttle bus runs regularly from Ugata Station to the resort, taking about 20 minutes. Visitors can also rent bicycles to explore the grounds at their own pace and enjoy views of the bays and surrounding greenery.
The resort features a spa styled after the Alhambra Palace with arched windows, soft music, and fragrances, complemented by a restaurant curated by a Michelin-starred chef from San Sebastian. Guests can also participate in boat cruises around Ago Bay or attend craft workshops in studios, turning ordinary visits into memorable experiences.
