Contemporary Art Museum Ise

The Contemporary Art Museum Ise presents modern artworks and outdoor sculptures across its grounds, overlooking the waters of Gokasho Bay in Mie Prefecture.

The museum building opened in 2003, establishing a dedicated space for contemporary art exhibitions and becoming a central cultural institution in the Iseshima region.

The exhibition spaces feature rotating displays of Japanese and international artists, promoting dialogue between different artistic perspectives through varied media and installations.

The museum welcomes visitors from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM and remains closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with direct access from the Shima Yacht Harbor area.

The museum grounds include an outdoor sculpture section named Uku, where art pieces integrate with the natural landscape and seasonal changes of the bay environment.
