Parque España-Shima Spain Village, Theme park and integrated resort in Isobechō Sakazaki, Japan.
Parque España-Shima Spain Village is a theme park and resort in Isobechō Sakazaki, Japan, recreating Spanish architecture and entertainment. The grounds spread across several zones with hotels, restaurants, rides, and an adjoining hot spring bath.
The park opened in April 1994 as a joint project between a Japanese railway company and a Spanish firm. The facility expanded during Japan's economic stagnation to include a hotel and onsen.
Visitors watch authentic Spanish flamenco dancers perform on several stages throughout the day. The dancers execute their movements between reconstructed white facades and arcades that recall Andalusian villages.
Shuttle buses depart from Ugata Station about every fifteen minutes to reach the park through rural coastal scenery. At the entrance, visitors receive maps of the grounds showing all zones and facilities plus performance times for shows.
The adjacent Himawari-no-yu connects Japanese onsen bathing with views of the Spanish replicas through floor-to-ceiling windows. Guests can move between indoor and outdoor hot pools while looking out at the white towers and squares.
