近鉄賢島カンツリークラブ, Golf course in Shima, Japan
The Kintetsu Kashikojima Country Club is an 18-hole golf course located within Ise-Shima National Park near Shima, featuring rolling terrain and bentgrass greens. The layout spans roughly 7,000 yards and incorporates the region's natural coastal topography into its design.
The course opened in 1969 and grew into a significant tournament venue in Japan's golf landscape. It gained international recognition when it hosted a major LPGA event annually from 2006 to 2014.
The course sits within a landscape shaped by steep hills and indented coastal formations, creating natural boundaries and vistas that influence play throughout the round.
The facility includes practice ranges with multiple tee areas and dedicated spaces for short-game training and bunker work. The setting within a national park offers natural surroundings while maintaining good accessibility for all skill levels.
Starting in June 2024, the course equipped its entire golf cart fleet with air conditioning, a first for Japan's golf landscape. This addition makes playing during the region's hot and humid seasons considerably more comfortable.
