Tokyu Plaza Ginza, Shopping complex in Ginza, Japan
Tokyu Plaza Ginza is a modern shopping complex with a glass facade housing over 100 fashion retailers, accessory boutiques, and dining venues spread across eleven floors and five basement levels. The building provides extensive retail and food options throughout its vertical structure.
The architectural firm Nikken Sekkei completed this modern retail center in March 2016, introducing contemporary design elements to Tokyo's Ginza district. The opening marked an update to the shopping landscape in this long-established commercial area.
The building's exterior patterns reflect Edo Kiriko cut glass techniques, blending traditional Japanese craftsmanship into its modern form. This design choice connects historical handcraft methods with the contemporary retail landscape of Ginza.
The complex sits just one minute from Ginza Station exits C2 and C3, making it easy to reach by public transit. Tax-free shopping services are available for international visitors shopping at the retail stores.
The sixth floor features the Kiriko Lounge with a decorative pool and rooftop areas divided into a Green Side with cherry trees and a Water Side with contemporary touches. These spaces offer visitors a calm retreat within the busy shopping environment.
