The Ouse Winery operates in a forested hillside setting, producing wines, ciders, calvados, and liqueurs from grapes, apples, Asian pears, and peaches grown locally.
Established in 2015, the winery emerged as part of the regional recovery efforts following the 2011 Fukushima nuclear incident, focusing on rebuilding agricultural confidence.
The facility collaborates with fifteen local fruit farmers who cultivate Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and Merlot grapes, strengthening community relationships through agricultural partnerships.
Visitors can participate in wine tastings, guided tours, and seasonal events, including the Wine Appreciation Festival scheduled for November 3rd, 2024.
The winery produces a quarterly magazine called Ouse STYLE, which informs readers about new vintages, upcoming activities, and seasonal updates from the vineyard.
