Akagi Nature Park, Nature park in Shibukawa, Japan
Akagi Nature Park is a nature preserve in Shibukawa that spans varied terrain with forests, ponds, gardens, and walking trails. The grounds sit at roughly 600 to 700 meters elevation and provide access to regional vegetation and habitats.
Seiji Tsutsumi began environmental planning for the area in the 1980s, aiming to transform it into a public nature space. Credit Saison Co. Ltd. took over management in 2010 and developed the project into a complete facility.
The park serves as a learning space where visitors observe regional plant and animal life along bark-covered pathways. The grounds attract nature enthusiasts who want to understand the local ecosystem while walking through the landscape.
The park is open from April to November and features marked trails that are easy to walk year-round when accessible. A shuttle service from Shibukawa Station provides convenient transportation for visitors arriving without a car.
The site earned certification as a forest therapy location in 2014, a recognition based on scientific research into healing effects. This designation highlights how the landscape supports mental and physical wellness for visitors.
