Hinjitsukan is a two-story wooden guesthouse with approximately twenty rooms that combine Japanese and Western design elements. The structure features a mix of traditional and modern influences that defined it as a versatile accommodation facility.
Built in 1887, it served as luxury accommodation for imperial family members and distinguished guests visiting the Ise Shrines. Its existence reflects how important this location was as a destination for prominent figures during the Meiji period.
The main banquet hall with its 120 tatami mats showcases traditional Japanese carpentry and includes a Noh stage for performances. Visitors can experience how the space reflects the importance of formal gatherings and artistic expression in historical Japanese society.
The building is located a five-minute walk from Meoto Iwa rocks and about fifteen minutes from JR Futaminoura Station. The nearby station provides hourly train connections to Iseshi Station for convenient access.
