Rias Ark Museum of Art, Art museum in Kesennuma, Japan
The Rias Ark Museum of Art sits on a hill overlooking Kesennuma Bay, featuring three floors dedicated to regional art and cultural exhibitions.
The museum opened in October 1994 as part of Miyagi Prefecture's initiative to revitalize the Kesennuma and Motoyoshi regions through cultural development.
The Exhibition Room contains hundreds of photographs and artifacts documenting the 2011 earthquake and tsunami impact on the local community.
Visitors can access the museum Wednesday through Sunday from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with adult admission priced at 700 yen.
The building, designed by architect Osamu Ishiyama, includes a glass observation deck extending twelve meters above ground with panoramic views.
