Numazu City Archives of Meiji History

The Numazu City Archives of Meiji History spans across multiple exhibition spaces, displaying documents and artifacts from the Meiji period of Japan.

Founded in October 1984, this museum preserves materials that document Japan's transformation from feudal isolation to an industrialized nation during 1868-1912.

The museum maintains extensive collections of photographs, written records, and objects that demonstrate the social changes in Numazu during the Meiji era.

Located at 372-1 Nishikumado in Numazu, the museum provides educational programs and research facilities for visitors interested in Japanese modernization.

In 2002, the museum received a historical radar set discovered in a mountain tunnel tea plantation shed in Shizuoka Prefecture.
