Yatsugatake Museum, Regional museum at Yatsugatake mountain base, Chino, Japan

The Yatsugatake Museum features multiple exhibition rooms dedicated to local geography, geology, history, folklore, and regional industries of Nagano Prefecture.

Established in 1988, the museum received a substantial collection of artworks from sculptor Shimizu Takashi, who donated his pieces to Hara Village in 1978.

The museum displays ancient Jomon pottery artifacts, including a Middle Jomon vessel decorated with human faces, representing early Japanese ceramic traditions.

Located at 6983 Toyohira, the museum opens from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM with adult admission at 310 yen and offers parking space for 60 vehicles.

The facility contains exhibits about Suwa animism and traditional saw blacksmithing, demonstrating the connection between local craftsmanship and nature.
