大経寺

Daikei-ji Temple is a Buddhist temple located in the Minami-Oi district of Shinagawa, situated near the former site of a historical execution ground. The structure underwent complete renovation in 1990 while preserving its traditional Buddhist architectural character.

The temple was founded in the 1660s during the Edo period to honor executed prisoners from the nearby execution grounds. It later received the name Daikei-ji in 1942 when it formally affiliated with the Nichiren Buddhist sect.
