Omori Nori Museum

The Omori Nori Museum displays production methods, harvesting techniques, and processing steps of nori seaweed through interactive exhibits and historical artifacts.

The museum opened in April 2008 to preserve the heritage of nori cultivation in the Omori region, which has been a center for seaweed production.

Exhibits demonstrate nori's role in Japanese cuisine, from traditional harvesting methods to its essential use in preparing sushi and onigiri rice balls.

Located 15 minutes from Heiwajima Station, the museum operates from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with extended hours until 7:00 PM during summer months.

Visitors can participate in workshops to create nori-based dishes while learning about different types of seaweed through multimedia presentations and photographs.
