Shinagawa Historical Museum

The Shinagawa Historical Museum displays archaeological artifacts, historical documents, and traditional objects across multiple exhibition halls covering the Shinagawa district development.

Established in 1985, this museum preserves findings from the Omori Shell Mounds, which marked the beginning of archaeological research in Japan.

The museum garden contains a tea room called Shotekian from the 1920s, where visitors learn about traditional Japanese tea ceremonies.

Located 800 meters from Tachiaigawa Station, the museum opens from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and charges 100 yen for adults, 50 yen for students.

The garden features a suikinkutsu, an underground water instrument that creates musical sounds when water drops fall into a ceramic chamber.
