高田松原運動公園, Sports and memorial park in Rikuzentakata, Japan
Takada-Matsubara Sports Park is a facility with a baseball stadium, two soccer fields with natural and artificial turf, and various training facilities spread across the grounds. The different areas allow for multiple sports activities and competitions throughout the year.
The original sports facilities were destroyed by the 2011 tsunami and subsequently rebuilt from the ground up. The reconstruction moved the baseball field to a location that had previously been residential.
The park is a place where residents gather to share experiences and memories from the 2011 earthquake through community events. These gatherings help people connect and understand what happened to their town.
The park operates Tuesday through Saturday from 9 AM to 9 PM and Sunday until 5 PM. Visitors can park their vehicles in one of five designated areas that provide spaces for about 990 cars.
The baseball stadium is named Rakuten Eagles Miracle Pine Field and was built on a former burial ground. This location makes it a symbol of the community's recovery and hope after the disaster.
