Bus Terminal Tokyo Yaesu is a bus terminus in the Yaesu area located in the basement levels of the Tokyo Midtown Yaesu building. The facility has ticket counters on Basement 1, six bus platforms on Basement 2 (numbered 11 to 16), a waiting lounge with seating, shops, and restaurants in the immediate vicinity.
The terminal opened its first section in September 2022 as a modern bus hub beside Tokyo Station. The facility is expanding in phases, with additional sections planned for 2025 and 2028, eventually becoming the largest bus station in the country.
The terminal is named after its location in Yaesu, a busy commercial district next to Tokyo Station. It combines bus operations with a modern shopping and dining area where travelers can rest and enjoy local foods and drinks before their journey.
The terminal is about a five-minute walk from Tokyo Station via the Yaesu South Exit; follow signs to the building and descend the stairs to the basement levels. The facility has elevators, escalators, restrooms, a waiting lounge, and a Family Mart with drinks and snacks for travelers waiting before departure.
The terminal handles about 600 buses daily and ranks among the largest bus stations in Japan. Nearby Tokyo Midtown Yaesu features specialized shops like the bakery PARIYA, known for soft strawberry shortcake and deli foods, and Potama with fresh Okinawan dishes such as handmade hot pork rice balls called onigiri.
