Swiss-Garden Hotel Melaka, hotel in Malacca, Malaysia
Swiss-Garden Hotel Melaka is a multi-storey hotel on the banks of the Melaka River in Melaka Tengah, Malaysia. The glass-fronted building offers river-facing rooms, an outdoor pool, a restaurant, and a fitness center across its many floors.
The hotel was built during a period when Melaka was being recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site and beginning to develop modern tourism alongside its historic areas. It was part of a wave of new construction that changed the city's skyline around that time.
The hotel sits on the bank of the Melaka River, directly across from Kampung Morten, a traditional Malay village visible from the riverside. Guests can walk over to Villa Sentosa, a family home open to visitors as a small museum showing how local Malay families have lived for generations.
The hotel is close to the main bus terminal and easy to reach by road from both Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. Parking is available within the building itself, and Wi-Fi covers the entire property.
The hotel is widely considered the tallest building in the state of Melaka, giving upper-floor guests a view of the city that is hard to find elsewhere. From those floors, the old town rooftops and the newer parts of the city appear at the same time, side by side.
