Krishna Mandir, Hindu temple in Patan Durbar Square, Nepal.
Krishna Mandir is a Hindu temple with three stacked square stone towers in the center of Patan Durbar Square. Each level is covered with finely carved scenes, and metal spires rise above the entire structure.
A king commissioned this stone temple in 1693 as a detailed architectural work. This was an era when such multi-tiered religious structures were common in the Kathmandu Valley.
The temple serves as a gathering place where worshippers come to pray and leave offerings. The carved walls tell stories that have shaped religious life in this square for centuries.
You can visit the temple from sunrise to sunset and freely explore the surrounding square. The best time for photos is early morning when light is soft and crowds are smaller.
Each level of the temple displays scenes from different sacred texts of the Hindu tradition. This arrangement lets visitors see the breadth of religious teachings in a single structure.
