Al Jalaa Tower

Al Jalaa Tower was a 13-story building in Gaza City that combined residential apartments with office spaces for international media organizations. The structure housed both families and major news outlets that covered regional developments.

The building was constructed in 1990 as one of Gaza City's early high-rise structures. It was destroyed by airstrikes in 2021.

The tower housed residential families and international news organizations in shared spaces, serving as a center where journalists and residents lived and worked together. This combination shaped it as a hub for information and storytelling from the region.

The site is not accessible to visitors as the ruins remain in their original location. The remains are visible from outside various parts of the city.

Residents and journalists received evacuation notice on May 15, 2021 and had roughly one hour to retrieve belongings before the building was struck. This brief window allowed many to save their most important possessions.
