Carol Park Mausoleum, Bucharest

The Carol Park Mausoleum is a memorial structure in Bucharest standing 48 meters tall with a distinctive design of black and red granite. Five narrow arches clad in red granite rise from a circular black granite base, forming the central element of this commemorative complex.

The building was constructed in 1963 as a resting place for Communist leaders. It was transformed in 1991 into a memorial dedicated to unknown soldiers.
