Goryachy Klyuch, Spa resort town in Krasnodar Krai, Russia.
Goryachy Klyuch is a town in Krasnodar Krai, Russia, located along the Psekups River and known for its natural thermal springs. The settlement spreads along the river valley and is surrounded by forested hills of the northern Caucasus, giving the area a green appearance throughout most of the year.
The settlement was founded in 1864 as a military health facility for treating soldiers and officers. After decades of operating as a spa resort, it officially received town status in 1965.
The municipal celebrations feature traditional North Caucasian dances, music performances, and demonstrations of local mineral water applications.
Most sanatoriums are within walking distance of the town center and offer multi-week treatment programs. Visitors should note that many facilities are designed for extended stays, with medical treatments being the main focus rather than short visits.
The temperature of the mineral water varies naturally between 37 and 60 degrees Celsius (99 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit) at different spring outlets, without any artificial heating. This natural range allows for different therapeutic applications and treatments directly from the source.
