Музей Сталина, Political museum in Kureika, Russia
The museum was a small wooden cabin protected by a large pavilion with triple-glazed windows and a heating system. The structure combined the original dwelling with a modern protective shell built around it.
This site was where he lived in exile from 1914 to 1916, and a museum opened in 1938 to mark his time there. Following de-Stalinization policies in the 1960s, the museum was closed and its collections removed.
During its operation, passenger ships on the Yenisei River were required to stop here for two hours, where formal ceremonies and youth inductions took place.
The site is located at a remote location on a river in Siberia and can be difficult to reach. Visitors should prepare for isolated conditions and limited facilities in the area.
Some artifacts from the museum were preserved by local residents, including a woven basket from the exile period. These privately held items reflect how the local community maintained a connection to this historical location.
