Botanist Kliment Timiryazev, a major scientist of the 19th century, lived and conducted his research in this apartment from 1899 to 1920. The space was converted into a museum in 1942 to preserve his memory and scientific contributions.

The rooms contain objects from daily life in the late 19th century, including the scientist's personal library, period furniture, and photographs on glass plates. Walking through, you get a sense of how an intellectual household functioned during that era.

This is a small, intimate museum best visited with a guide, as tours are only available for small groups. It is recommended to book in advance, as spaces are limited and visits move through the rooms at a measured pace.

The museum preserves unusual furniture pieces, including a grand piano and two specially crafted chairs that were ordered directly from Britain. These distinctive objects reveal personal tastes and the international connections of educated circles at that time.
