Çetintepe Dam

Çetintepe Dam is a massive gravity dam currently under construction on the Göksu River, featuring a height of 116 meters and a length exceeding 500 meters with approximately 12.5 million cubic meters of dam fill material.

Construction of Çetintepe Dam began in 2013 under the General Directorate of State Hydraulic Works, initiated as part of Turkey's comprehensive water infrastructure development program to address regional drought issues and enhance irrigation capabilities.

The dam project represents a transformative infrastructure development for traditional agricultural communities in Adıyaman and neighboring provinces, supporting longstanding farming practices that form the backbone of local cultural identity and economic sustenance.

Upon completion, the dam will irrigate approximately 600,000 hectares of agricultural land across multiple provinces, with current construction progress at 68% completion and ongoing embankment work scheduled for timely project delivery.

The construction includes a specialized diversion tunnel with a 5-meter diameter and 510-meter length that actively diverts water during the building phase, demonstrating advanced engineering techniques for large-scale dam construction projects.
