Zhongshan Green Bridge

Zhongshan Green Bridge is a modern arch structure that spans Luchuan Canal while incorporating environmental principles into its design. The structure provides separate pathways for pedestrians and cyclists, creating a direct link between Taichung Train Station and the surrounding commercial and shopping areas.

The crossing was built in 1908 as Xinsheng Bridge and ranks among the oldest transportation structures in central Taichung. It was later renamed and modernized with new elements to handle growing traffic and shifting urban needs.

The bridge carries the name of the founder of the modern Chinese republic and connects commercial districts where electronics shops and traditional stores sit side by side. Walking across it reveals how shopping culture and urban infrastructure shape the rhythm of daily life in this part of town.

The best way to explore is on foot or by bicycle, thanks to clearly marked pathways on both sides. Visit the surrounding pedestrian zones and markets to experience the area fully and take a break at one of the local shops nearby.
