Cultural Heritage Park

Cultural Heritage Park is a cultural center in South District, Taichung, with multiple buildings housing exhibition spaces, performance venues, and educational facilities. The grounds span approximately 5.6 hectares and combine space for displays with areas for public gatherings and learning activities.

The site originated in 1914 as a brewery during Japanese rule, later transforming into a cultural institution after operations ceased in 1998. This conversion demonstrates how industrial facilities in the region gained new social roles.

The park preserves sixteen historical buildings where visitors encounter exhibitions, art installations, and programs focused on Taiwanese traditions. The structures themselves serve as living spaces for cultural expression, showing how past spaces welcome contemporary activity.

The park opens daily with convenient access from Taichung Station, making arrival straightforward. Guided tours and regular workshops are offered throughout the grounds to help visitors explore different aspects of the site.

Original brewing equipment from the site's former operations remains integrated into the exhibition spaces, creating an unusual setting for contemporary art presentations. This blend of industrial heritage and current creative work helps visitors directly experience the dual history of the location.
