Gangkou Suspension Bridge, Suspension footbridge in Manzhou township, Taiwan
Gangkou Suspension Bridge is a red and white pedestrian crossing that spans the Gangkou River in Manzhou, joining both riverbanks together. It was built as the longest footbridge suspension structure in the region and provides a passageway over the water for both locals and visitors.
The bridge was built to better connect the Manzhou community and has served as a key transportation link across the river since its completion. Its development as a suspension structure reflects modern solutions for pedestrian travel in rural areas of Taiwan.
The bridge design incorporates structural elements that reflect Taiwan's architectural practices in bridge construction while serving local transportation needs.
Access to the bridge is available between 7:30 AM and 6:00 PM, with parking facilities located near the entrance for convenient arrival. Since up to 60 people can use the structure at once, visitors should come during quieter times for a more comfortable experience.
The bridge sits within Dapeng Bay National Scenic Area and offers visitors access to a protected natural zone alongside crossing the river. From this location, visitors can observe the surrounding bay and natural landscape while on the structure.
