The Princess Babao Temple, Ancestral temple in Hengchun Township, Pingtung County, Taiwan
The Princess Babao Temple features three distinct halls with altars dedicated to Wanyinggong, Princess Babao, and Tudigong, located near Dawan Beach.
During the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, a Dutch princess named Margaret met her fate near this location when her ship ran aground in Kenting Bay.
Worshippers at the temple maintain specific rituals, offering coffee and red wine at the altar where a portrait of a White woman stands.
The temple, situated within Kenting National Park boundaries, remains accessible through regular local transportation services from Hengchun Township.
Eight artifacts from the shipwreck, including Dutch clogs and pearl necklaces, gave rise to the temple's alternative name: Eight Treasures Princess Temple.
