海口港旅遊服務中心(看海美術館), Art museum in Checheng, Taiwan
The Haikou Port Tourist Service Center, also known as Watch Sea Art Museum, occupies a harbor building with multiple exhibition spaces for art and cultural displays. A sculptural installation called the Spring River Beast stands prominently at the entrance.
The building originally served as a waiting room for the ferry terminal before sitting vacant for several years. Its conversion to an art museum in 2021 gave the structure a new cultural purpose.
The second floor displays ink paintings showing local landscapes and regional landmarks like the Marine Biology Museum and Hengchun onion fields. These works reflect what people in the area find worth remembering and sharing with visitors.
This museum opens daily from 10 AM to 6 PM except Tuesdays, and entry is free with parking available near the harbor. Plan your visit for any day except Tuesday to ensure you find it open.
Visitors receive a special stamp featuring the Spring River Beast design upon arrival. This thoughtful touch shows how the museum marks each visit in a memorable way.
