Creise, Mountain summit in Black Mount range, Scotland
Creise is a mountain summit in the Black Mount range that rises to approximately 1100 meters. The peak features a long ridge system with steep slopes running from Clach Leathad to Sron na Creise.
The summit received its official recognition as a separate mountain in 1981 when it was classified as an independent Munro. Before this date, the peak was not formally distinguished from its neighboring Clach Leathad.
The mountain belongs to the Munro category, a classification of Scottish mountains exceeding 3000 feet, making it a target for peak collectors.
Most hikers begin their ascent from the White Corries ski center and often combine the climb with neighboring Meall a Bhuiridh in one outing. The passage between the two summits crosses a demanding col that requires reasonable fitness.
Rainwater falling on the summit drains toward both Scottish coasts through separate river systems. Water from the southern slopes flows eastward via the Ba, Tummel, and Tay rivers.
