Alameda Wildlife Conservation Park

The conservation park houses diverse wildlife species including Barbary macaques, cotton-topped tamarins, green iguanas, spur-thighed tortoises, and numerous bird species within natural enclosures.

Established in 1994, the park originated from a collection of animals confiscated by Gibraltar Customs authorities from illegal traders passing through the territory.

The park conducts educational programs for local schools, teaching students about wildlife conservation, animal welfare, and environmental protection through direct observation.

The facility opens daily throughout the year except for Good Friday, National Day on September 10, and Christmas Day, with entrance fees supporting animal care.

The park rehabilitates confiscated animals while participating in breeding programs for endangered species intended for release in the Upper Rock Nature Reserve.
