Brantwood, Historic house museum in Coniston, England.

The 250-acre estate includes a main house overlooking Coniston Water, along with gardens, lakeshore areas, pastures, and oak woods.

John Ruskin purchased Brantwood in 1871 without seeing it first, then expanded the property from its original six rooms to include additional spaces and gardens.

The museum displays Ruskin's personal collections, including his secretaire, bookcase, shell cabinet, and geological specimens in multiple exhibition rooms.

The museum operates daily during summer months, closes on Mondays and Tuesdays in winter, with admission fees of £8.70 for adults and free entry for children.

The gardens contain one of only three Cumbria Wisteria Collections in England, showcasing experimental land management and horticultural techniques initiated by Ruskin.
