Great Carrs, Mountain summit in Lake District National Park, England
The peak of Great Carrs rises to 788 meters above sea level, featuring exposed rock formations and steep eastern cliffs dropping into Greenburn valley.
A Royal Canadian Air Force Halifax bomber crashed on the mountain during a navigation exercise in 1944, with wreckage remains still visible near the summit.
The mountain belongs to the Wainwright collection of 214 Lake District peaks, documented in Alfred Wainwright's detailed guide books from the 1950s and 1960s.
The ascent starts from Little Langdale, following Wet Side Edge path for 4 kilometers to reach the summit marked by a grass-covered stone cairn.
The Greenburn copper mine beneath Great Carrs operated until 1865, reaching depths of 213 meters with remnants of water reservoirs still visible today.
