Princess Amelia's Battery, Military fortification on Willis's Plateau, Gibraltar.
Princess Amelia's Battery stands at the northern section of the Upper Rock Nature Reserve, featuring stone walls and gun emplacements for coastal defense.
Constructed in 1732, the battery received its name from Princess Amelia of Great Britain, the second daughter of King George II.
The Gibraltar Heritage Trust recognizes this fortification as a significant element of Gibraltar's military architectural heritage.
The battery contains two remaining structures, with access available through guided tours arranged by the Gibraltar Tourist Board.
During the Spanish War of 1762, the battery operated six cannons, including four 6-pounders and two 9-pounders for strategic defense.
