Shillhope Law, Summit in Northumberland, United Kingdom
Shillhope Law rises to 501 meters in the southern Cheviots, with steep grassy slopes descending into deep valleys on both sides of the peak.
The mountain's classification as a Marilyn comes from its 158-meter prominence and the low col at 343 meters that separates it from The Cheviot range.
The northern flank of Shillhope Law serves as a training ground for military exercises, creating an intersection between recreational and defense activities.
Hikers can access the summit through a five-mile circular route starting from either Barrowburn or Shillmoor farms on the western slopes.
The mountain offers unobstructed views specifically toward the south and southeast, while surrounding hills of similar height limit visibility in other directions.
