Still Water, Bronze horse head sculpture near Hyde Park Corner, London, United Kingdom.
Still Water is a monumental bronze horse head sculpture rising approximately 33 feet (10 meters) into the London sky, depicted with its head bent downward as if drinking from an invisible water source. The work stands at the intersection of Achilles Way and Park Lane near Hyde Park Corner.
British artist Nic Fiddian-Green created this bronze horse head in the early 2010s following earlier experimental versions placed in other London locations. The permanent installation at Hyde Park Corner emerged from ongoing development of the concept over several years.
The horse design draws from ancient art traditions, referencing the sculpture of Selene's horse from the Parthenon now held in the British Museum. This approach connects classical motifs with contemporary public art practice.
The sculpture is freely visible year-round and stands just a short walk from Hyde Park Corner underground station with several bus stops nearby. The open plaza around it provides space to walk around and photograph from different angles without restrictions.
The monumental work breaks from traditional heroic horse statues by depicting the head turned downward in a moment of quiet introspection rather than triumph. This inward-looking gesture gives the enormous bronze structure an unexpected sense of gentleness that catches many visitors off guard.
