Ben Crom, Mountain summit in County Down, Northern Ireland
Ben Crom rises 526 meters above sea level, featuring granite formations and steep eastern slopes that descend toward the reservoir below.
The construction of Ben Crom Reservoir commenced in 1953, employing 186 workers to create a concrete dam with a capacity of 1,700 million liters.
The mountain forms part of the Mourne Mountains range, which has influenced local folklore and maintained connections to ancient Northern Irish settlements.
Visitors can access the summit via the Ott Track, a 10.5-kilometer round trip that requires water-resistant footwear due to marshy terrain.
The mountain's eastern flanks contain multiple gullies that create a geological pattern similar to the scree slopes found in Wasdale, England.
