Ben Crom

Ben Crom is a summit in the Mourne Mountains with steep eastern slopes made of granite that drop sharply toward the reservoir below. The mountain's flanks display several erosion gullies that shape its landscape.

The valley beneath Ben Crom was reshaped in 1953 for a reservoir project that created a concrete dam structure. This project brought major infrastructure changes to the mountain region.

The mountain forms part of the Mourne Mountains range, which has influenced local folklore and maintained connections to ancient Northern Irish settlements.

The ascent follows an established path with boggy sections where water-resistant footwear is recommended. The route is straightforward to follow and requires no technical climbing skills for experienced walkers.

The mountain's eastern flanks contain multiple gullies that create a geological pattern similar to the scree slopes found in Wasdale, England.
