South Quay Plaza, Residential skyscraper in Canary Wharf, England
South Quay Plaza is a residential complex of three towers at South Dock in Canary Wharf, London, with Hampton Tower standing as the tallest of the three. The glass facades reflect the dock water and open views toward the Thames and surrounding financial district towers.
The project replaced three office buildings from the 1980s after the Berkeley Group acquired the site and obtained planning permission in 2014. Completion marked a shift in Canary Wharf from purely commercial space to a neighborhood with residential use.
The three towers create new connections between the surrounding docks and invite residents to relax on extensive terraces. Ground-floor restaurants and shops bring activity to an area once busy only with office workers during the day.
The development offers over 1,380 apartments along with shared facilities such as a pool and gym inside the buildings. Visitors can access the public outdoor areas and ground-floor cafés, while upper floors remain accessible only to residents.
The outdoor spaces cover around 6,000 square meters and received an award in 2022 for their garden design. Several planted levels and water features connect the towers and create quiet retreats among the tall building facades.
