PNC Park, Baseball stadium in North Shore, Pittsburgh, US
PNC Park sits along the Allegheny River in the North Shore neighborhood and was built with steel and limestone. The playing field is covered with natural grass and the stands provide room for just under 38,000 spectators.
The stadium opened in 2001 after construction took 24 months to complete. It replaced Three Rivers Stadium and serves as the fifth home location for the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Four bronze statues depicting Honus Wagner, Roberto Clemente, Willie Stargell, and Bill Mazeroski stand outside the entrances, honoring these players with permanent memorials. Visitors often gather here before the game for photos and pause at the plaques detailing their achievements.
The stadium connects directly to Interstate 279 and the North Side subway station. Parking is available at several facilities near the venue.
The main concourse is called Tastes of Pittsburgh and brings together regional food vendors. Stands sell Primanti Brothers sandwiches and other local specialties throughout the game.
