Kennebunkport, Coastal resort town in York County, Maine, US.

Kennebunkport is a coastal town along the Atlantic shore of southern Maine, with several beaches, residential neighborhoods, and a village center that holds shops and dining spots. Cape Porpoise harbor lies a short distance away and remains active with working fishing boats.

The settlement began in 1653 under the name Cape Porpus and was renamed Arundel in 1719 before taking its present name in 1821. The town developed as a summer retreat for wealthy families from Boston and New York during the 1800s.

The Christmas Prelude festival transforms the town each December with parades, craft fairs, carol singing, and tree lighting ceremonies.

Most shops and restaurants cluster around Dock Square, which is easy to explore on foot. The beaches lie a short drive or bike ride from the village center.

Walker's Point Estate, extending into the Atlantic Ocean, contains the summer residence of the Bush family since the late 1800s.
